Healthy Tips

1. Milk really does a body good! A growing body of research indicates that including three servings a day of milk, cheese, or yogurt as part of a healthy diet will help you manage your weight. Be sure to enjoy low-fat and fat-free varieties.

2. Studies show that breakfast helps kids learn and adults work faster and more efficiently. No matter how busy you are in the morning, it's still important to include breakfast in your plans every day. The average breakfast takes only nine minutes to eat.

3. When trying to quit using tobacco, talk to your doctor about the best nicotine replacement therapy for you. Make sure you completely understand the directions for use. Failure to use the appropriate dosage or using the product incorrectly can decrease your chances for success with quitting. Also, keep in mind that research shows most former smokers needed four to six quit attempts before successfully kicking the habit. Keep this in mind as you proceed through your quit attempt.

4. Keeping a workout log can motivate you to work toward your goals. When you can see both where you were and where you are, you realize you are making progress! Always have a back-up plan in case your primary goal suffers a setback. Do not look at a "setback" as the end, look for something positive and feel good about the achievements you have already made.
